Events in and around Albury

As the fourth-largest city in New South Wales, Australia, Albury is a hub of activity all year round. Whether you're a local or visiting from out of town, there are plenty of seasonal events and activities to keep you entertained.

Summer

As temperatures rise, there are plenty of ways to stay cool in Albury. Head to the Albury Swim Centre for a refreshing dip, or grab some friends and get your heart pumping with a game of beach volleyball at Noreuil Park.

If you're looking for something a little more relaxed, pack a picnic and head to the iconic Albury Botanic Gardens. With shady trees and plenty of green space, it's the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon with friends or family.

Of course, no summer in Albury is complete without a visit to the annual Albury-Wodonga Australia Day Celebrations. With live music, food stalls, and a huge fireworks display, it's a day the whole family can enjoy.

Autumn

The crisp autumn air in Albury is the perfect excuse to get outside and explore the city's stunning natural surroundings. Take a hike through the nearby hills or rent a bike and hit the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail.

For a more culture-focussed outing, check out the annual Write Around the Murray Festival. Celebrating reading, writing, and storytelling, the five-day festival is a must-see for bookworms and literature lovers.

Easter is also a great time to be in Albury, with the annual Easter Art Show showcasing some of the region's most talented artists. Featuring paintings, sculptures, and even photography, it's a great way to experience the thriving art scene in Albury.

Winter

While it may be chilly outside, there's still plenty of fun to be had in Albury during the winter months. Head to the Albury Entertainment Centre for some live theatre or take a leisurely stroll along the beautiful Murray River.

The annual Winter Solstice Festival is also a highlight of the winter calendar in Albury. Featuring live music, art installations, and plenty of food and drink, it's a great way to celebrate the longest night of the year.

Spring

As the weather warms up, Albury bursts into life with a wide variety of spring events and activities. Take a walk through the stunning Hume and Hovell Track, which winds its way through the beautiful countryside surrounding Albury-Wodonga.

If you're looking for something a little more lively, head to the annual Albury Gold Cup Carnival. With two days of horse racing, live music, and plenty of fashion, it's a great way to kick off the spring racing season.

Finally, don't miss the Albury-Wodonga Farmers' Market, held every Sunday throughout the year. Featuring fresh, locally-grown produce, it's the perfect place to stock up on ingredients for a delicious spring picnic.
